         2012: Arthur M. Wellington Prize, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), for the paper: Novel approach for multi-criteria optimization of life-cycle preventive and essential maintenance of deteriorating structures. Journal of Structural Engineering, ASCE, 136(8), 1009-1022 (with Frangopol, D.M.).

 

         2012: IALCCE 2012 Junior Research Prize. Awarded at IALCCE 2012, Vienna, Austria, October 5, 2012.

         2009: Nevada Medal for Distinguished Graduate Student Paper in Bridge Engineering. International completion in bridge engineering research. Sponsored by Simon Wong Engineering. Received a plaque, an engraved 14-K gold pin, and a cash prize.

         2009: Gibson Fellowship in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA.

         2004: Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship, funded by the United States Department of State, to pursue an M.S. degree at Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, USA.

         1996: Won a national competition in mathematics and received an honor certificate and a cash prize, the Palestinian Institute of Science and Mathematics.
